Boat Lifts & Dock Information

Boat lifts are available to accommodate boats brought by guests.

All boat lifts and dock spaces must be assigned by the office before use.

For the safety of our equipment, boats may not exceed 24 feet in length or 4,500 pounds while using a lift or when tied to the docks.

Boat Lift Operation

  • Raise the lift by turning the wheel clockwise.

  • Lower the lift by turning the wheel counterclockwise.

  • Do not play on or around the boat lifts.

  • Once your boat is floating freely, do not continue cranking the cable or raise the lift beyond the marked stop point.

  • While your boat is still on the lift, remove the drain plug to avoid placing unnecessary weight on the lift.

Guests are welcome to fish from the docks. Please be respectful of other guests and owners by remembering that all boats are private property.

Security Deposit

  • Boat Lift/Dock Space Deposit: $500

To reserve a boat lift or dock space, or if you have any questions, please email the office.

Boat Lift & Dock Rules and Regulations

The following information must be collected from all guests using a boat lift or dock at the time of check-in:

Boat Information

  • Boat Length: ______________________

  • Total Weight: _____________________

  • Boat Weight: ______________________

  • Motor Weight: _____________________

  • Fuel Weight: ______________________

  • Other Equipment/Accessories: ______________________

Please notify the office if you need instructions on the proper and safe operation of the boat lifts or docks.

Boat Lift & Dock Use

  • Do not power your boat on or off the lift. Always load and unload your boat by hand.

  • Remove the boat drain plug each evening while the boat is on the lift. This reduces unnecessary weight and allows rainwater to drain in the event of overnight storms.

  • When operating the lift, do not allow the lift wheel to spin freely. Do not over-crank the lift in either direction, especially when lowering the boat. Excessive cranking and improper operation cause unnecessary wear on the lift cables and increase maintenance costs.

  • If your boat appears too large or too heavy for the assigned lift, do not use the lift. Secure your boat at the dock and notify the office immediately.

  • Please notify the office when you are finished using your assigned lift so staff can inspect it before the next guest arrives.

  • If severe weather is forecast, boat owners are expected to remove and trailer their boats whenever possible.

  • Boats weighing more than 4,500 pounds or pontoons longer than 24 feet may not be attached to the Lake Carlos Villas dock system. These boats must be beached, trailered, or secured using an independent mooring system that is not attached to the LCV dock system to prevent damage.

Lake Carlos Villas Rules & Regulations
